Say it Ain't So

I seem to be having a really hard time coming to terms with the fact that Monday is my official first day back at school. Is summer really coming to an end???? Somebody please say it ain't so!

Monday was spent at school reviewing and writing new curriculum, yesterday it was back to school for some grade level planning and as much as I wanted to make it back up there today to get some work done I just didn't have it in me.It's a good thing I hung around yesterday for a couple of hours and at least started to set up my room. My goal is to have most things in place before Monday. Although our students' first day is not until the 24th we all know next week will be filled with meetings, inservices and a lot of running around.

I've really been on a rollercoaster of emotions since late last week which I know has something to do with my laziness recently. Went for an interview, did well and then found out the district was cutting back on administrative positions and that it probably wasn't going to happen this time around. :( I know timing is everything and there's a plan for each of us but man sometimes that's hard to see. Like Robert told me over dinner "it's not the end of the world, you have a job to be thankful for and this is a great opportunity to grow some tough skin." Not too sure about the last part but well said.

Jen! Iknow exactly what you mean! We actually start this Friday! How come we just couldn't just start on Monday is beyond me! I too have been in a funk since last week and I totally think it's from being lazy! I found out today that I did not get any of the AP positions I interviewed for and I was emotional all day!. I cried off and on ALL day! My hubby told me the exact same thing. To be grateful I have a job and that it wasn't the end of the world.

Good luck next week! Even though it's tough starting back to school I am sure it will be good for our mental state!

I'm feeling rather lazy too. I'm glad Jen commented above. She's one of my greatest friends and she is going through that similar emotion. Hang in there!

"I know timing is everything and there's a plan for each of us but man sometimes that's hard to see." Those words could have come out of my mouth. I have a GREAT job that pays the bills but I am BORED OUT OF MY STINKIN MIND!!! Everything happens for a reason and someday I will understand why I am stuck in boredom land..

Hugs, Mel

Alas, summer is ending.

I'm having a rough time with it too. I feel like we were just there. I can't believe it's back to Day 1. Hang in there! I feel like once we get a couple days under out belts, it will seem better!

I sometimes daydream about being a teacher and how WONDERFUL it would be to have summers off... but I don't know if I could handle the going back to work part. I hope it all comes together for you!
